1987 was the year I made my first serious crossbow. Being a creative artist I had my own ideas of what I would like to see in a crossbow, as I did not really like the crossbows on offer in sporting outlets.
Very shortly afterwards I studied product design and manufacture to degree level and I also became
interested in spring powered air weapons, both customising the stocks and tuning the action to extreme
levels of performance.
After four years of research and development into mechanical spring design and performance I had an idea
that became the starting point for a brand new concept in crossbow design.
I wanted a crossbow that would penetrate a car engine block with breath taking good looks and set myself
one hell of a task, designing on the traditional drawing board I soon had some serious looking designs,
while continuously reworking them as this was a highly complex project.
I wanted to make a crossbow like no other, the prototype was to be made entirely of metal, comprising
mainly of aluminium with a wooden under stock.
To cut a long story short three very long and painstaking years later, the full potential of this exiting brand
new design concept began to be fully realized.
With three power levels at 80lb, 125lb, and 225lb, its integrated winch and full power stroke of 15”
I named this crossbow...
